Bird is inside small sock as band is attached.


Metal strip containing leg bands that are cut and shaped. From finger going left, there are 6 bands!


Taking a few body measurements.


Checking body fat by gently blowing through straw.


Bird is weighed while inside sock; sock then weighed and subtracted.


Pretty calm after banding and measurements have been taken.


Banded, measured, and examined, it fed from feeder while handheld right before release. Within 10 minutes of release the hummer returned to the feeder to feed, returning several more times before banders departed.
